15-Minute Honey Garlic Chicken
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ⅓ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp chicken broth or water
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes — optional
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water
Directions
- Slice the chicken thinly. Cut each breast horizontally into 2 thinner pieces. This is the secret to getting dinner done so quickly.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook about 3 minutes per side, until nicely browned and cooked through. Remove chicken to a plate.
- Turn the heat down to medium. Add the butter and garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds — just until fragrant.
-
Add:
- honey
- soy sauce
- broth/water
- vinegar
- red pepper flakes
Stir and let it bubble for about 1–2 minutes.
- Mix the cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and stir it into the sauce. Let it bubble another 30–60 seconds until thick and glossy.
- Put the chicken back in the pan and turn it over several times, coating it completely in the sauce. Let it cook another minute or two so the sauce gets nice and sticky.
